Footnotes
HEAVENVILLE seized the lead on the first turn, went clear and proceeded to slow down the pace through the early stages, turned back a challenge from an outside rival at the top of the stretch, then sprinted clear when roused in upper stretch drew clear under steady handling. TIBURON settled near the back, two-wide, made a mild three-wide bid on the far turn and finished with some interest and won a tight battle for second. MOR LANA SPIRIT settled in behind HEAVENVILLE for the first half, moved up approaching the quarter pole in a bid for the lead, but was turned back, kept on, but weakened a bit in deep stretch. ONTHESTAGE was last through the clubhouse turn, settled well off the pace down the backstretch, moved up into contention on the far turn, finished willingly but came up short in a three-way photo for second. QUARTERBACK DAK walked out of the gate, was coaxed early, raced in the middle of the pack, was under a ride midway through the far turn, but did not respond or threaten in the late stages.
