Footnotes
LEBOMBO settled two-deep just off the pace, moved up going into the turn, hooked up with GLOBALIST from the three-furlong pole, put that one in a bit tight near the eighth pole, then went on to win clear. GLOBALIST went four-wide into the first bend to press the early pace, assumed the lead midway through the far turn, then was joined by stablemate LEBOMBO to the outside, dueled that one into the stretch, had to check just inside the furlong marker but held second well clear of the next finisher. FOLLOW THE STAR settled inside off the pace for a half, moved up to challenge going into the turn, steadied briefly near the seven-sixteenths marker, could not kick on with the top pair in the stretch, but kept to task to hold third. VERRAZANO'S GOLD was coaxed a bit to get to the front, was joined by GLOBALIST to the outside, gave way near the three-furlong pole, and had little left for the stretch run. HANK RIDGE broke sharply to be close up on the first turn, dropped back to last turning on to the backstretch, steadily lost ground, and was not involved in the late stages.
