Footnotes
SUITABLE was five wide of the quartet contesting the early lead then three wide through the turn, was always traveling well, took a short lead in to the stretch then responded well to strong handling and intermittent urging in the stretch, easily held a late challenger at bay. AFFECTIONTO AUTISM tracked three wide in the second flight behind the pace battle, went four to five wide into the stretch and finished well, chased the winner home but could not get by. FIFTEEN LOVE BACK raced mid-pack, saved ground through the turn, rallied up the rail and came up short. WEIRD YEAR had a bit of an awkward start, settled in the back half of the field early on then went three wide on the turn then four wide into the stretch was gradually gaining at the end. SAMURAI'S GRANDSON was under a ride to keep close the the early leaders, waited for room on the turn the swung out five wide into the stretch, soldiered on in a griding finish under steady handling and urging. SAM SEZ broke well and raced between horses in the early pace scramble, held position until late on the turn and weakened before the stretch. SEND OFF unable to keep up early, settled well behind down the backstretch, stayed on the rail and ran on some under strong handling and improved while never a serious threat. RECKLESS RED got the inside position in a five-way battle for the early lead, took a slight lead into the turn but had two rivals bidding to the outside, led into the stretch then gave way with a furlong to run. MIDNIGHT HUNTER broke well and got caught up in the heated early pace contest, dropped off the pace at the five-sixteenths pole then tired. IMA BIG BOPPER had to steady after the start and fell well behind early, was in a full out drive from the three furlong marker but was unable to improve or make an impact.
