HONEST broke well then took up an inside stalking position a couple of lengths behind the developing pace battle, got a clean run through the turn and went forward near the five-sixteenths to put pressure on MIDSHIPMAN'S LADY, dueled that stubborn foe into the stretch, went head-to-head to deep stretch then edged clear in the final yards. MIDSHIPMAN'S LADY showed good speed from the break and made the lead without really being asked, led the way through the turn then fought back when challenged by HONEST at the five-sixteenths pole, battled gamely to deep stretch but was outfinished in the shadow of the wire. AVALING was unable to contest the early pace but was allowed to settle into stride, made steady forward progress down the backstretch and through the turn then bid five wide into the stretch finished with good energy despite having some trouble changing leads and gained the third spot. GOD KNOWS WHY was pinched at the start then was far back through the early stages, saved ground, made a sustained run from the three furlong pole, got within striking distance by mid-stretch and was mildly gaining in the end. BLING BABY chased well behind the main to the turn, responded when put into a drive, was making up ground along the rail then flattened out. ALL AMERICAN LADY tracked close up four to five wide came five wide into the stretch and lacked a finish. SASSY FLYER was close up between horses to the turn, then dropped out of it at the quarter pole and had nothing to offer in the stretch. GEE SHE'S FANCY dropped far behind early and was never a factor.
