Footnotes
MISTER MONTE CARLO vied on the outside of the early pace battle, ceded the lead to EL MERO MERO at the half then went to challenge approaching the quarter pole, chased that one into the stretch then pulled even at the furlong marker then went clear late. EL MERO MERO vied inside of an early three-way pace battle, assumed the lead passing the half-mile pole while still under some restraint, opened up on the turn, the responded when let loose at the top of the stretch, opened up, then could not hold off the winner in the final furlong but was far ahead of the next finisher. OPTIMAL TRIP settled mid-pack then came three wide into the stretch, finished up well under steady handling and urging and gained third. IN BOND WE TRUST broke out at the start into the path of DO YOUR JOB, settled at the back of the pack through the early was still last on the turn then went six to seven wide in the stretch and finished well under strong handling and urging and was closing stoutly in the late stages. MY BOY BLING vied between horses early, held position to the quarter pole then lost ground but continued to battle gamely into the stretch, chased the top pair home and was outkicked in the late stages. LEGENDARY LORE was outrun from the start, saved ground through the turn and ran on late to improve position while never a serious threat. DO YOUR JOB took up at the start when the horses in adjacent stalls converged in front, then rushed to race just behind the second flight, dropped down to the rail through the turn then finished with good energy. OOEY GOOEY CHEWY broke in at the start and took the path of DO YOUR JOB, was briefly up with the pace five wide then dropped back to mid-pack, tried to launch a bid on the turn, came about six wide into the stretch on the wrong lead and could not find the needed response. SAMSPLAYERSLOUNGE raced mid-pack two to three wide, the went into a drive from the three furlong pole, swung five wide into the stretch, steadied near the eighth pole and could not recover. BRONTE DIEM was a bit keen early and pulled the rider up to the leaders into the turn, loomed large near the quarter pole while still under wraps then stopped in the stretch.
