Footnotes
DERBY DATE was last away, made steady forward progress through the middle stages, bid for the lead three-wide leaving the quarter pole, dueled with MY GOOD GOOD BOY into the stretch, was struggling to reel that rival in that stubborn foe, kept on gamely and got the nod at the finish. MY GOOD GOOD BOY tracked the pacesetter two-deep, was under a drive to go after the leader approaching the quarter pole, had DERBY DATE also mounting a bid on the outside, dueled with that rival from that point, collared the leader in mid-stretch, then got nailed at the wire in the last jump. THREEFIFTYSEVEN broke on top and went to a clear lead, maintained the margin through the turn, started to shorten strides in mid-stretch, and was unable to last. MO SATURDAYS hustled up after a tardy start, stalked the pacesetter along the rail while under a slight hold, then struggled to keep pace mid-way through the turn and had little to offer in the stretch. KARAOKE was outpaced from the break, moved up into the turn within range of contention, but was unable to sustain the bid into the stretch and did not pose a threat in the late stages. COLONEL BARTON tracked four-wide near the back in the run up the backstretch and was unable to summon a rally. FIFTEEN LOVE BACK was hard ridden from the break but unable to contest the early pace, dropped to the rear of the field before the turn, and chased thereafter.
