CLOCKIN IN showed good speed from the break and was pushed to the lead, joined by STORMY AT MIDNIGHT, went clear of the rest, who separated into pairs behind, dueled head-and-head to the stretch, gained the advantage with a furlong to run, then held off fast closing rival on the outside in the final yards. TOM SAWYER tracked the pace two-deep well off the pace, then closed in late but could not get up in time. EL ROJO VIVO raced on the inside of the tracking pair several lengths behind the dueling leaders, made a late bid in the last furlong, ducked to the inside in the closing stages but came up short. STORMY AT MIDNIGHT dueled outside of CLOCKIN IN from the start, then gave way in upper stretch while racing on the wrong lead, and had the rider drop the crop inside the furlong marker. DUTCH MILLS raced two-deep from the back and lacked a finish. GRAZEN BOY was the inside of the trailing pair, was having to be coaxed along early to maintain contact and was never a threat.
