PAYNTER'S PALETTE got put in a bit tight by the outside foe after the start, settled back but stayed in the clear three to four wide, moved up through the turn with aim on the leaders near the quarter pole, continued to rally under steady handling, and got up in the final yards. IMAGOLDENSONG veered inward after the break, but was otherwise away well, took command at the half-mile pole and cleared off from the rest, came into the stretch two lengths to the good, had some trouble with the lead change, shortened strides late, and gave way in the final yards. HELLABELLA tracked up close four-wide down the backstretch, went after IMAGOLDENSONG when that one quickened away from the pack, chased into the stretch but faltered racing on the wrong lead in upper stretch, recovered too late and was passed up for second. FAITH AND DEVOTION veered in after the start, forcing the inside rival towards the gap, moved up to mid-pack through the middle stages, then ran on mildly through the stretch to improve. SHINE GEM SHINE broke awkwardly to the outside, then overcorrected to the inside and bumped PURLY DIALED IN, was briefly close up, then steadily dropped to the back half of the field, then came back on in the stretch. PURLY DIALED IN broke well, was forwardly placed on the inside up the backstretch, started to lose ground through the turn and tired in the stretch. CLEARLY GORGEOUS got shuffled back after the start, raced in last up the backstretch, aved ground but never factored. SPEAKER BABY was forced in towards the gap a few strides into the race, chased from the back, then came out six-wide into the stretch but was unable to threaten. UP IN THE BLUE hustled away at the start and was under a steady drive, raced briefly close up, then retreated through the turn and was not involved in the late stages.
