Footnotes
WAUNEKA broke a beat slow then rushed to join TRUE CHIEF on the lead, took command on the turn and finished in the clear under steady handling. SPRING IN PARIS broke well but was outsprinted to the front, settled inside behind the duelig leaders, saved all the ground, and finished up well, but could not get to the winner. ANNIE'S JOY was last away, steadily advanced through the middle stages while saving ground, waited for room util the stretch, then made a nice bid uip the rail to gain the show. SPA CITY GIRL raced in the middle of the pack early in cover, came out four-wide into the stretch, and rallied but could not crack the top three in a decent effort. TRUE CHIEF hustled away to clear then moved over to the two-path, briefly dueled with WAUNEKA to the turn, could not quicken with that rival into the lane, and weakened in upper stretch. SERENADE A KITTEN allowed to settle, raced three-wide well off the pace, moved down to the rail for the run through the turn, then made mild improvement in the stretch. RUMPUS stumbled exiting the gate and was last away, raced wide up the backstretch, kept on willingly in the late stages but could not make an impact. SPANKERBOOM tracked two-wide with the second group, weakened near the quarter pole, and lacked a late bid. NANCY LYNN chased four-wide in the second flight, then was outfinished in the stretch.
