Footnotes
THOUSAND WINS hustled to the lead from the start and took control of the early pace, ceded the front down the backstretch to SHERRYS RIDGE as the field bunched up behind due to the slow pace, took back command going into the far turn, quickened on cue in upper stretch, then held sway under steady handling ahead of a pair of determined foes to the outside. BAD AND BOOZY showed good speed from the break and was always forwardly placed, sat just behind the slow pace three-wide, chased gamely through the stretch but was unable to reel in the winner. SHE'S A KITTEN steadied slightly at the start, settled off the pace to the inside, became boxed in on the far turn, angled out four-wide at the top of the stretch, finished well under strong handling and urging, but came up short in the end. CHIP ALTERNATIVE unhurried from the start, settled at the back, advanced through the far turn to gain contention, finished well to improve, but had too much ground to make up to threaten. SHERRYS RIDGE was last away but was a bit rank early and pulled the rider to the lead coming out of the first turn, yielded the front to THOUSAND WINS near the seven-sixteenths marker, and was unable to keep up in the late stages. FREE TO BE ME tracked near the rear of the main pack, then had nothing to offer in the stretch when called upon. D J DEAL raced three to four wide through the early stages, weakened on the far turn, and lacked a finish. FUND LAVENDER was hard to load, got caught five-wide on the clubhouse turn, raced wide throughout, did not respond when asked to go on late on the backstretch, and was eased up in the stretch, and walked off.
