Footnotes
KING OF GRACE was devoid of early speed and trailed well behind the rest in the early going, advanced closer late on the backstretch run, navigated between horses through the far turn, swung out through an opening at the top of the stretch, and rallied, taking the lead inside the furlong marker to claim the top prize. MUCHO MACHO CAM stalked the pacesetter to the far turn, took a short lead in upper stretch, had no response when challenged by the eventual winner near the furlong marker but kept on to hold the place. FIRST CAPE settled inside behind the two setting the early pace, moved up to join them late in the backstretch, then was without a clear path through the far turn, got a clear run up the rail in the stretch, loomed in upper stretch but weakened in the final furlong. BRADIX made the early lead without getting much pressure, led the way through the first half-mile with MUCHO MACHO CAM a constant shadow to the outside, tried to respond when faced with a challenge near the quarter pole but was outfinished in the stretch. CAUSE IM THE KING was sent forward from the break, went three-wide into the clubhouse turn, settled in a tracking position in the second pair, made a mild three-wide bid late on the far turn but could not sustain the bid and faltered in the stretch.
