Footnotes
LEONARDO was hustled hard to get the early lead, dictated terms on the front end, got a breather mid-race, then had something left when set down in the stretch and drew well clear of the rest. CRUZIN FOR GURLS was the distant early trailer, then made a sustained run from the seven-sixteenths marker to get up into second. FAITH'S SPIRIT raced four-wide in the tracking group, made a try at the leader approaching the quarter pole but proved no match, then tired late in the stretch and was passed for second in sight of the finish line. STRAIGHTAWAY tracked two deep for the first half, then dropped out at the half-mile pole, but kept to task and passed a couple of tired rivals in the stretch. CAPTAIN DAKOTA secured inside position in the tracking group, made a mild bid through the turn, then weakened in upper stretch. PIONEER BOWL raced between horses in the tracking group, but was done after going a half-mile.
