Footnotes
HELLO COME IN came away a bit awkwardly behind the field, moved up to join the leading pack heading into the turn, navigated an inside path through the turn, then finished up well under steady handling and urging to collar KOCHAN on the lead just before the finish. KOCHAN contested the pace from the inside, shook free of the others passing the quarter pole, pulled clear in the stretch but got caught in the final strides. JOE BIRDEAUX raced four-wide close up early, finished well, but could not get to the top pair. RUNNING PRODUCTION was close up early, moved up to join the pace battle heading into the turn, had some trouble changing leads, and lacked the needed response in the late stages. I AM ON THE LIST was last on the backstretch run but never far back, was mildly gaining late, and lacked the needed late kick. WHOLELOTAGREYAREA was away well and pushed the pace three-wide in the inital stages, then faltered in the stretch. PRINCE OF MISCHIEF broke sharply and initially pressed the early pace from between horses, backed off after the half, and was not involved in the late stages.
