Footnotes
SUGAR HILL settled well off the pace early while saving ground, steadied slightly off heels near the three-furlong pole, launched a bid from the quarter pole, and rallied down the middle of the course to be along in time. WOLFBERRY ducked in at the start, making hard contact with the inside rival, still made the early running, while left alone to dictate the fractions set a moderate pace to the ar turn, was clear at the head of the stretch, tried to quicken away, fought on bravely, and outfinished all but the winner. LADY Q got bumped hard by the outside rival at the start, settled well off the pace, made a forward move late on the backstretch run, tipped out four wide in the stretch, and finished well but came up short. STREET WISDOM got to the inside on the clubhouse turn, raced in range down the backstretch, bided time through the far turn while lacking a clear path, finished up well up the rail when clear, but was outfinished. INVASION GIRL was always up close but was outkicked in the final furlong. ROYAL SUBJECT walked out of the gate at the start, spotting the rest of the field a head start, kept to task, and was mildly gaining ground in the stretch. HATTIE JANE ducked in, went three-wide into the first turn, raced in mid-pack on the inside down the backstretch, moved in range in upper stretch, but was outkicked in the final furlong. ENGLISH PATIENCE brushed with SECURITY QUEEN after the break, stalked the pace along the rail to the far turn, then could not keep up in the late stages. SECURITY QUEEN broke well, mutually brushed with ENGLISH PATIENCE after the start, then steadily dropped to the back of the field, and did not offer a rally.
