INITIALIZE chased STORMY AT MIDNIGHT through the early stages, took command in upper stretch and drew clear late. STORMY AT MIDNIGHT sprinted to a clear early lead, came into the stretch with ony INITIALIZE in close pursuit, yielded to that rival in upper stretch but finished well clear of the third horse. GABARRA settled mid-pack on the inside, tipped out to the three path into the stretch, and finished up well to gain third. DADDY'S GIFT raced behind the top pair in futile chase, weakened a bit in deep stretch, and was passed late to miss the board. NOBLE EAGLE slow early to be well off the leaders at the rear of the field, commenced a steady, long drive on the turn and finished with a late gain along the inside. OOEY GOOEY CHEWY dropped back to mid-pack after a level start, was driven three-wide around the turn, but made no closing bid. GRAZEN BOY was outrun from the start, raced near the back, and lacked a late bid. WAR MULE was slow from the gate, chased while racing wide at the back of the field, and lacked a finishing kick. LOUISIANA FLASH under a drive from the break, chased close up three-wide, then weakened and stopped in the stretch.
