Footnotes
STRIKE RIDGE took command on the first turn, intent on getting the lead, got some pressure from DOMINANT SPIRIT early, then left that rival behind late on the turn, opened up at the top of the stretch, and held well clear of a rival while under steady handling. TWENTY ONE SKIDOO settled off the pace, came under a stiff drive from the three-furlong pole, made a late try at the eventual winner through the stretch, but could not close the gap. SCHIFTY'S HALOID settled well off the pace early, came three-wide into the stretch, and rallied to gain the third prize. TEXIAN DEVIL was pushed to get forward position, tucked in behind the leading pair down the backstretch, made a mild bid on the far turn and was kept to task but unable to improve. DOMINANT SPIRIT pressed the pace two-wide, then was unable to kick on with that one from the quarter pole and weakened through the stretch run. SECRECY IS EVIL was the distant trailer was early, never got involved, stopped on the far turn and was eased to the finish line and walked off. .
