Footnotes
ZILARRO gained the early advantage under some pressure. turned back every challenge, moved to a solo lead turning for home, and held clear under steady handling. SPECIAL AGENDA pressed the pace from between horses, got rebuffed after every try for the lead, but chased the winner home clear of the third horse. MELLENCAMP vied three-wide through the early stages, came under pressure going into the far turn, and was hard-pressed to hold third. OBAN was the distant trailer to the turn and passed tiring rivals in the lane. LEE'S BABY BOY raced far back, and never threatened. ESSENTIAL STORM chased in mid-pack while having to be coaxed along down the backstretch, lost ground on the far turn, and did not offer a rally. DOCKET saved ground throughout racing mid-pack, then lacked a finish. COASTAL WARRIOR went four-wide through the first turn, raced close up behind the leading trio, started to struggle to keep up on the far turn and had little to offer late. BORDERLAND raced three-wide and was done before the half-mile pole.
