Footnotes
COURTINBYMOONLIGHT broke in a tangle, raced inside of two rivals on the lead, with none of the others inclined to quicken the pace, went the first half through moderate fractions, then picked up the pace with TEXAS SPEED QUEEN through the far turn, leaving COWGIRL DREAM behind, gained a narrow advantage in upper stretch, and was under strong handling and urging to hold clear to the wire. TEXAS SPEED QUEEN vied between rivals through the early stages, went on with COURTINBYMOONLIGHT through the far turn, had that rival get first run into the stretch but chased gamely to the finish to be a clear second. CLEVER CLEMENTINE tracked the leading trip along the rail, bided time early on the far turn lacking a clear path, angled out to the three-path to set up a late bid, finished well, but could only move up to claim the minor award. COWGIRL DREAM raced three-wide in the front group, backed out near the halfway point, then went one-paced through the late stages. AUNT PENNY got shuffled back after the break, then raced between rivals in the second grouping, started to lose ground before the far turn, dropped well behind, was kept to task under a stiff drive but was unable to improve. SPUN SILK was close up three-wide with the tracking group for the first half-mile, dropped off the pace early on the turn and had little to offer in the stretch.
