GHOST NATION was very slow into stride and was under hard urging early, spotted the field a big head start, then found stride and regained contact with the field midway through the turn, tipped out four wide into the stretch, rallied while on the wrong lead through upper stretch, and was along in time. NOBLE EAGLE tracked between rivals in the middle of the pack, came three-wide at the top of the stretch, and produced a steady, grinding rally to miss in a blanket finish. ROYALIST raced close up inside, lacked a clear path forward through the turn, maintained position, then made a bid up the rail in the final furlong but came up on the short end of a three-way photo.. RACE AROUND broke best and jumped out to the early lead with FROZENTAP keeping close to the outside, left that rival behind approaching the quarter pole, took a clear lead into the stretch, but was unable to last and weakened in the final yards. DEACON JONES chased from the back and failed to menace. FROZENTAP broke well and pressed the pace two-wide, kept trying after getting passed at the top of the stretch, but was outfinished the rest of the way. MIDNIGHT HUNTER was briefly up with the pace, dropped back before the turn, and weakened under a drive before the stretch.
