Footnotes
STACY'S PRINCESS was one of the first to break, angled over to the inside too soon, causing a chain reaction involving several horses to the inside, vied three-wide for the early lead, and continued to battle on between rivals through the stretch and prevailed under steady handling in a very tight blanket finish. EDGE CHASER steadied when forced inward by STACY'S PRINCESS, forcing BELLE BLU MOON into rivals to the inside, then raced between rivals in the early pace mix, had a very slight lead on the turn, set down at the top of the stretch, battled between foes through the stretch and lost a heartbreaker at the wire. FOR THE HOME FRONT tracked three or four wide, made a nice late run, and just missed. BELLA'S GIRL got a four-wide trip but was always prominent, finished up well but came up short in a good effort. BELLA BLU MOON got forced inward after the break by EDGE CHASER and caused a chain reaction to the inside, raced in mid-pack early, made a mild bid on the turn but could not sustain the run. LET HER BE got knocked off-stride in the early going, advanced with a middle move on the turn, finished willingly, but lacked a big late kick. ITTY BITTY BABY was close up on the inside to the stretch, then lacked a rally. CAYMAN HOT was last early, and never a factor. MIDNIGHT BREEZE took up after getting bumped from the outside foe into the inside rival, then raced in the back half of the field through the early stages, and lacked a rally. SMARTCENTS got knocked off stride, lost action, was pulled up, vetted, and transported from the track in the equine ambulance. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT JUST AFTER THE START. AFTER A REVIEW, #6 BELLA BLU MOON WAS DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED 9TH AND LAST.
