LA FANTASTICA ranged up two-wide just off the flank of ANNIE'S JOY, took command approaching the quarter pole, and kicked clear when asked. PUT A ROCK ON IT got off to an awkward start, went three wide on the first turn, pulled closer down the backstretch, loomed four-wide late on the turn, and rallied down the center of the course to get into second. COMPETITIVE THREAT (IRE) kept four-wide to the outside, circled the field on the far turn, and put in a good late run to gain the third spot. MISSINGYOUCRAZY was guided to a forward position and took up a tracking spot behind ANNIE'S JOY, was able to quicken with the rest of the field through the stretch, but came up short in a crowded finish. ANNIE'S JOY showed good speed from the outside post, made the lead midway through the first turn, and was left to dictate a slow pace up the backstretch, tried to quicken away on the far turn, yielded the lead in upper stretch, and was outkicked in the final furlong. CRUEL was the back marker to the half, then saved ground while rallying through the far turn and improved. LADY OF THE NILE settled in mid-pack, advanced closer heading into the far turn, finished with good interest, but it was not good enough to threaten in the late stages. GOLD MAKIN GIRL was a bi rank early, steadied repeatedly through the first turn, raced in mid-pack along the inside, lacked a clear path from the half-mile pole to the stretch, then was unable to kick on in the lane. RUBY CANTU raced near the back of the field to the half, then was unable to keep pace when the pace quickened on the far turn and had nothing to offer in the stretch.
