Footnotes
HEDGE THE RISK settled two-wide in the middle of the field through the early stages, started a bid approaching the quarter pole, had some trouble with the lead change in upper stretch, but straightened out late and surged in the final yards to take the top prize. MISS MOZETTI showed good speed from the break without really being asked, then left to dictate the tempo, slowed the pace for the first half, quickened into the far turn, then had something left in reserve when asked at the top of the stretch, finished well but could not hold off the winner in the final strides. GRIND JIM was the back marker for the first half-mile, made a forward move three-wide on the far turn, then swung five-wide into the stretch and rallied, but was too late. RANGO settled at the back, moved up on the far turn to gain contention, finished well, but was not quite good enough. SUPERSECRETWEAPON stalked two-deep, gave a good effort but was outfinished in the final furlong. OUR MOON PIE saved ground, was in range to the far turn, then faltered in the stretch. CHILL THE J was pushed from the outside post to the forward position, raced three-wide, made a mild bid on the far turn but was unable to keep pace in the late stages.
