RED SUMMERBIRD took command from the start with the rider setting a measured pace, was always traveling well, then responded when set down at the top of the stretch and drew off under steady handling and intermittent urging. PERLIANO raced off the early pace, kept to the inside, was no match for the winner, but stayed on to gain a clear second. CALL ME ICE MAN raced three-wide and was outfinished, but managed to pass one before the wire. BLING BLING BLING stalked the pace two-deep to the stretch, was never able to get on even terms, and tired and faded in the final furlong.
