Footnotes
GIGANTE rated in the middle of the pack along the rail, started a forward move with three furlongs to run, came up to the leaders three wide at the top of the stretch, then went clear under steady handling and intermittent urging and held safe from a challenge to the outside in the final yards. COUNTRY CAPER reserved well off the pace for the first half-mile, advanced three-wide through the far turn, came four-wide into the stretch, and produced a strong rally but could not reel in the winner while finishing well ahead of the next horse. TAP THE DOT raced near the back, well off the pace, circled the field four-wide on the last turn, then rallied to gain the minor award. CINCO RICHIE was restless in the gate, settled in just behind the pacesetters, maintained position to the stretch, then lacked a late kick. CARLEA'S DREAM was forwardly placed going into the first turn, pressed the pace to the outside of COFFEE CALIENTE to the far turn, ramped up the pressure near the quarter pole, could not go with the top pair from upper stretch and was outfinished for the minor award. COFFEE CALIENTE was first to cross over to the main course, led the way to the far turn, then gave way in the stretch. I'M YOUR MAN was devoid of early speed, went immediately to the rail, dropped far back, and never rallied.
