Footnotes
MR JAWS seized the early lead and led the way under mild pressure from PAINTED LAD through the early stages, pushed back at every challenge by that rival, and held firm in the final yards. PAINTED LAD dueled to the outside of MR JAWS from the first turn, was never able to shake free of that one and yielded in the final yards. KING ARTHUR RIDGE lost the path shortly after the start, was reserved near the rear for the first half mile, then came six-wide into the stretch and rallied to gain the show money. BANDERA BLING settled midpack, made a good try late up the inside but came up short. GHOST COWBOY broke best but ceded the early lead before the first turn, raced close up inside in the second pair, then finished up evenly with a mild gain. CHAMPAGNE STOOPER broke in a tangle and was under some coaxing to keep pace early, raced near the rear of the field, ran on well up the rail but was oufinished. TAP TO CONNECT settled in mid-pack, bid three-wide into the stretch but lacked a rally. STANS HOME RUN tracked two-wide close up in the second pair, then lacked a finish and faded in the late stages.
