Footnotes
SPIRIT OF A WALKON broke a step slow, laid close up along the inside, stalked from the pocket rounding the far turn, smoothly tipped to the three path to bid outside of the leader entering upper stretch, dueled with that one through midstretch then drove clear. GETHSEMANE bumped with an inner foe at the start, set the pace in the two path, remained in hand as outer foes applied pressure around the far turn, disposed of those rivals before meeting a different challenge in upper stretch, dug in but was bested by that bidder in the final furlong. COLT FORTY SEVEN was brushed by an inner foe at the start, laid off of the pace in the two path, pursued between horses around the far turn, tucked to the inside entering the lane then stayed on mildly to edge show. POLITICS broke a step slow and was bounced around between rivals at the start, trailed in the three path, chased in the five path around the far turn, moved up to bid for show in the final furlong but was denied late. JETER bumped an outer rival and was knocked off stride at the start, tracked from midpack in the four path, inched closer under rousing around the far turn, but flattened out entering the lane and tired between horses. SO SPECIAL broke outwardly and brushed a foe at the start, stalked from the three path, pressed between horses around the far turn but weakened at the quarter pole and caved.
