Footnotes
EYE WITNESS dictated terms along the inside while well in hand, built a clear advantage rounding the far turn then lasted from an outer challenger in the closing stages. INEXORABLE trailed along the inside, advanced in the four path turning for home, tipped wider into upper stretch, rallied to bid outside of the leader in the closing stages but missed. TRIDENT HIT pursued from midpack two to three wide and between horses, claimed place from an outer rival reaching teh quarter pole, steadied while changing leads unimpeded in pursuit of the clear leader entering upper stretch, got outkicked for place in the final furlong then lasted for show late. SIR SAFFER brushed with an inner rival early on, laid off of the pace in the two to three path, tipped out to the five path in midstretch and stayed on mildly to miss show. MANFREDI broke a step slow, tracked from the four path, progressed to apply pressure outside of the leader with nine sixteenths to go, but remained in the four path into the far turn, gave way turning for home and faded. CASTLE ISLAND pursued from midpack three to four wide, chased in the three path around the far turn and tired. OUTLIER brushed with an outer rival early on, tracked along the inside, chased around the far turn and faded. EASTSIDE COOL stalked the leader from the three to two path into the backstretch, chased between horses passing the half mile pole, but weakened into the far turn and was done early.
