Footnotes
APPEALS TO ME chased the pace then waited through the turn before angling six wide at the top of the stretch and was asked, responding well and drawing clear in the final sixteenth. AMERICA VOTES got away alertly and stalked the early pace then raced all out into the stretch before being challenged by TOPEKA but battled back for place. TOPEKA rated in the middle of the pack early then made a steady advance while four wide, making a bid in the stretch and ran on late. SKINDRED SPIRIT settled early and saved ground before angling out and splitting horses into the stretch then closed belatedly. BOURBON O'CLOCK rated in the second flight early then moved up to contend nearing the 3/8 pole and made a bid while being asked along the rail and made a mild rally late. BLAZING SUNSET was allowed to settle early then made a steady advance while four wide on the turn and a bid into the stretch but faltered. MS CANDICE was void of speed and tossed head while avoiding kickback at the 5/8 pole then dropped back into the turn before angling seven wide into the stretch and passed tiring rivals. FIRST LOOK raced close up and pressed the early pace then contended for a half mile before giving way in the stretch. GEORGY GIRL was void of speed with a rail trip then was no factor. ALI DARLING was hustled up and set the early pace while pressed then faded in the stretch.
