VIOLENT RIVER chased the pace down the backstretch, made a bid into the turn, vied in the three path on that bend, took the lead at the top of the stretch, shook clear into the final furlong and held under strong urging. CHEZ WHIZ was urged along towards the rear of the field, turned into upper stretch under a drive and improved position with good energy to just get the place. LOST DA VINCI was urged along on the outside, chased in the four path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path and was outfinshed then just lost the place while able to get the show. HUEY DUEY chased the pace down the backstretch, went around the turn in the two path, came into the stretch in the five path and lacked the needed kick. CUSTOM CADILLAC chased the pace down the backstretch, made a bid into the turn, vied between horses in the two path going around that bend and weakened. SAFE BET was restless in the gate, tossed his head at the start and was last to commence but broke relatively with the body of the field, was urged along at the rear, saved ground for most of the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path and failed to threaten. LEAVING SHADOWS went to the front, set the pace under urging, vied inside on the turn, was headed at the top of the stretch and faded. SPEIGHTFUL ONE raced towards the front of the field on the inside, chased along the rail on the turn and came up empty.
