MATCHING FUNDS mid pack, worked way out to the three path by late in the first turn, within striking distance up the backstretch, challenged three wide in the second turn, shook clear when straightened for home, maintained daylight to the wire under steady handling. GLOBAL HEAT WAVE bumped at the start to be off slowly, lacked speed outside, four wide through the final turn, rallied for the place, no real threat to the winner. CLEARLY ARTEMUS broke well, set the pace toward the inside, headed and fell back second turn, moved out, came back to earn the show. DATE THE PRINCE bumped at the start, raced back and three wide, continued to lag three wide through the second bend, displayed a mild amount of late interest, not enough for the show. FORT CAMPBELL veered in at the break, recovered and moved up to press the issue in the first turn from the three path, continued to apply pressure up the backstretch, lodged a bid between horses and inside the winner second turn then gave way in the drive.
