Footnotes
CLEARLY BELLA stalked the pace while four wide through the first turn, crept closer into the far turn, put a head in front in the three path into the lane, extended that advantage past the furlong marker then held the runner up safe late under firm handling. BACK STREET BABY tucked in to save some ground first turn, moved closer in the two path in some minor traffic through the second bend, tipped out three wide turning into the straight to lose some momentum, set down when straightened for home, slowly closing the gap on the winner late while up for the second spot in the final strides. CLASSIC EMBRACE prompted the issue up from off the inside, engaged the pacesetter while between horses and inside the winner, vied with that one into the lane then could not match strides, nipped late for the second spot. CHICKA CHICK showed the way into the first turn just off the inside, continued to show the way up the backstretch, headed in the second turn then gave ground grudgingly through the lane while remaining closest to the inside. CHAPELLETE void of speed, shifted out for the drive, displayed on modest interest through the lane. SHELBI'S STAR off the pace while outside, was four wide through the final turn, failed to muster a closing kick.
