GABARRA with the pace from the start after breaking on top, vied up the backstretch and through the turn while remaining between horses, headed a furlong out, found more late to narrowly gain the nod at the wire. THAT'S RIGHT behind the leaders toward the inside, idled while waiting behind that lead pack turning into the straight, split foes, put a head in front but was outkicked to lose the nod. CASTILLE broke well with the winner, contested the pace three wide outside that one, continued on equal terms with that same rival through upper stretch, gave ground grudgingly while preserving the show spot. PRINCE LANCELOT (GB) back off the pace while racing outrun, three to four wide turn when creeping a bit closer, in good position while widest past the furlong marker, lacked a knockout punch in the late going. DON'TASK DON'TTELL off a step slow, lacked speed off the inside, three wide turning for home, improved slightly, no real threat. SATURDAY'S GOLD set or forced the issue up front along the inside, faltered turning for home. AMERICAN GUY off a step slow, lacked sped, saved ground to no avail in lacking a closing response. LEAVING SHADOWS behind the pace while racing outside, four wide through the turn, had nothing for the stretch drive.
