Footnotes
PUBLIUS , taken to rate off the pace while saving ground, took closer order while in hand heading towards the far turn, idled from the five sixteenths to the quarter pole, was afforded a clear inside run soon into the lane, closed steadily under pressure, took command with about seventy yards remaining and drew clear. CINCO RICHIE prompted the pace in hand and from the outside, edged up past the half, went on the attack past the five sixteenths, wrested command while floated out a bit past the three sixteenths, remained on his left lead and gave way grudgingly. MO HOPE , urged along in the clear, advanced three wide approaching the stretch, shifted out some in the final furlong and churned on to gain the show. MALIBU RAIN pulled well clear past the three quarter pole, set a rated pace towards the inner rail, dug in when confronted past the five sixteenths, drifted out whlie sparring in upper stretch, stayed on willingly to about the sixteenth pole then weakened. CLEMENTS RIDE hopped at the break, regrouped and settled well back, came three wide for the drive but failed to generate a run.
