BORONGAN broke sharp from the outside, cleared out of the chute down to the two path, dropped to the rail when showing the way into and through the turn, continued to hold the advantage into the lane, turned back a mild bid from the runner up in midstretch and maintained daylight to the wire under steady handling. ONE GRAND SLAM within striking distance out in the strip, three wide through the turn, crept a bit closer to the winner from the outside approaching the furlong marker, could do little more with that one while clearly second best. BELLASTONE COUNTRY forwardly placed up the backstretch inside, fell back through the turn, cut the corner into the lane to once again reach a striking position past the furlong marker, flattened out, saved the show. MAKE ME A DEAL back off the pace while well out in the strip, four wide through the bend, set down for the drive while widest, went evenly the final furlong in lacking a closing punch. ACESRAISEDTHE BAR lacked speed, encountered some traffic in mid pack with just over a half to run, moved out a bit to race in the three path by midway on the turn, also found lacking when the real running began at the head of the lane. BABBLING BROOKS fell back from between horses early and was never a factor.
