AZTEC EMPRESS away in good order from the outside, dueled up the backstretch off the inside, edged away from the other speed midway on the turn, found for for the drive in expanding that advantage, steady handling late. CHAPARRITA dueled up front inside the winner, lost contact with that one into the stretch, chased that same rival to the wire while drifting out a bit in midstretch, saved the second spot. YODA WINNER allowed the two leaders to go early, moved outside, stalked that pair into the turn, asked along into the lane, came up empty for the run to the wire.
