Footnotes
BEACH BLANKET raced up close between into the first turn the took a stalking position around the first turn, moved up to challenge three deep between rivals on the backstretch, emerged clear with a quarter mile remaining and stayed strong under urging to the wire. HEAVENLY DEAL was hard to load behind the gate, dueled from outside around the clubhouse turn, inched ahead early on the backstretch, came under threat from both sides not too long after, vied between into and around the far turn, yielded to the winner at the quarter pole and stayed on to secure second. SAUCY ARGUMENT settled inside then angled to the four path around the first turn, chased widest in the middle stages, bid five deep into the far turn, could not keep up with the winner with a quarter mile remaining, chased four wide into the lane, flattened in the late stages but churned on for the show honors. CONTRABAND EARLY chased two, three, then four wide on the first turn, moved up to dispute the lead four deep, failed to keep up around the far turn and weakened down the lane. MY DAD'S GUITAR chased along the inside, moved off the rail on the backstretch, lost ground trailing two wide on the far turn and passed a tired rival. SUMMERTIME PEPPERS dueled from inside, got bothered by outer rival early on the backstretch, re-engaged the top trio from the rail, got put in tight and checked at the five-sixteenths pole and had little left for the stretch run.
