EAGLE IN THE AIR broke well, showed the way into the first turn toward the inside, rated through a soft set of early fractions, quickened a bit into the far turn when under pressure from the outside, shrugged off a mild bid from the runner up midway on that bend, kicked well clear through the lane under steady handling. BERNARDO prompted the pace while three wide, came under a ride far turn, lodged a mild bid outside the winner midway on that bend, proved no match in the drive, remained clear for the place. RIDDICK lacked any early speed, steadied when in a bit tight far turn, moved out to the two path, roused for the drive, staged a steady rally to be getting to the runner up late, no threat to the winner. HANK RIDGE closest to the winner through the first turn, pressed that one while between horses up the backstretch, faltered while still between the top two in the final turn, continued to weaken through the stretch. TITO broke out, was rank soon after and again in the first turn, went one paced toward the inside in lacking a closing response. SWEET PRESENT bothered at the start to be away slowly, continued back off the pace, never menaced while racing toward the inside.
