CHATON ROUGE tracked in third position behind the pacesetter, launched a bid approaching the quarter pole, came four wide into the stretch, and blew by SALOMEINTHEHOOP with a furlong to go and won clear. SALOMEINTHEHOOP away well, ceded the lead to DON'T TOUCH on the first turn but maintained contact in a close tracking position, bid, then took command approaching the stretch but proved no match for the winner in the late stages. CLAIRE JUNE tracked a few lengths behind the pacesetter to the far turn, saved ground through the far turn, then rallied to gain the third spot. UTSIRA held up after the break, went three wide on the first turn, settled outside with the trailing group, made a mild late bid to improve position, but was much too late. CAPELLA RED allowed to settle from the break, raced with the trailing group for the first half, then made a mild late run and was slowly gaining ground in the late stages. DON'T TOUCH made the lead on the first turn and led the way by a length or two pulling hard through the early stages, gave way readily passing the quarter pole, tired, and was unable to hold on for a minor award. SISTER SAINT was last for most of the race, then passed a few tired foes in the stretch. SELECTIVELY SWEET raced near the rear of the field through the early stages, then did not respond when put into a drive with about three furlongs to go. SMART IZZY settled well behind in the third flight and lacked a late bid. SWIZZLECITY settled at the back, steadily lost ground through the middle of the race, and never mounted a rally.
