Footnotes
TAUREAN fell back to trail soon after the start along the inside, moved out a bit exiting the chute, raced three wide into the lane, advanced and engaged the leader when straightened for home, wore that rival down after a spirited stretch battle to narrowly prevail. ALAJUELA pressed the issue up front from the outside up the backstretch, challenged on the outside turn, gained the advantage into the stretch, battled to the wire inside the winner and proved stubborn to the end. ATICUS AURELIUS pressed the issue out of the chute off the inside, challenged between horses and inside the runner up turn, dueled with that one entering the stretch, relented when straightened for home, continued to gradually weakened but comfortably managed to hold the show. BETRBREADY off a step slow, raced back and outside, four wide out of the turn, went evenly through the lane in lacking a closing kick. COUNT THE STARS in the second flight while along the inside, moved out around the tiring pacesetter in the two path late in the turn, picked that rival off but could do little more in the run through the stretch. CARIBBEAN SON broke on top, showed the way out of the chute and up the backstretch, gave way when headed midway on the turn.
