Footnotes
MEDAGOOCH angled in early and edged up to be close into the turn, was patiently handled tracking an embattled trio past the five sixteenths, took advantage of an opening along the rail and forged through to take over nearing the furlong ground, responded to firm asking and eagerly drew away. RIVER DOG , three wide between runners near the half, ranged up and bid three deep past the five sixteenths, forced the issue four deep soon into the lane, kept on with willing pursuit after the winner cleared then kept on with good effort to outdo and inner rival for the place. DO IT FOR MICHAEL broke inward brushing IRISH HERO, corrected and moved up two wide to prompt the pace, applied more pressure three wide and between horses entering the lane, chased on past mid stretch then was out kicked by an outer RIVER DOG for second. CAPTAIN QUINT drafted back off the pace, saved ground around the turn, eased out in the drive and had belated action. SHERIFF RONNIE lost ground four to five wide and failed to drum up a serious run. IRISH HERO , brushed at the break, sped clear early and set the pace towards the inside, was hounded mid turn, drifted out some into the lane, failed to find more in mid stretch and weakened.
