SUGAR ON FIRE prompted the pace outside EL PAPACITO, applied more pressure under coaxing mid turn, dueled on a slim lead past the three sixteenths, shook clear under strong handling with a sixteenth remaining, drifted out a bit late then dug in to grittily prevail. VIDA , inside tracking a contested pace, worked outward approaching the stretch, straightened away about four wide, ranged up leaving mid stretch and kept on willingly. EL PAPACITO broke sharply to take the lead, set a pressured pace along the inside, dueled from mid turn to mid stretch then gave way grudgingly in the final seventy yards. MODRANACH , off last when breaking inward, corrected and angled out, moved up three to four wide nearing the half, circled four wide with pursuit into the lane, drifted in when a bit green in the lane then flattened out. RIO DEL VALLE saved ground off the pace, was ridden along into the stretch but failed to muster up a solid rally. IMPRESSIVENESS , urged along off the pace and outside a rival into the turn, circled four wide into the lane but failed to respond. PHANTOM GOLD , sluggish from the gate, lagged back, raced two to three wide and failed to generate a run.
