Footnotes
ECUMENICAL close up in the early stages, tracked the pace from inside of rivals along the backstretch, ran in pursuit of the pacesetter while saving ground into the turn, mounted a two wide rally into upper stretch, responded well into the lane, overtook the stubborn runner-up into the final sixteenth and edged clear late to prove best. D HOPPER sent for the early lead, assumed command and set the pace to the turn, held a clear lead nearing the quarter marker, met the bid of ECUMENICAL into the stretch, grudgingly gave way to the winner in the final sixteenth and was a clear second best. BLO BY'EM rated off of the early pace, was caught a bit in tight while between rivals on the run to the turn, angled out into the bend, was roused four wide to upper stretch, could not impact the top pair late but closed in the final sixteenth and was a clear third. ELLINGER tracked the early pace from the outside, was well placed to the turn, asked for run three wide nearing the quarter marker, could not muster the needed response into the stretch and weakened. WHO SAYS SO showed good early speed, raced close up to the early pace and stalked to the turn, chased to the quarter pole, could not find more into upper stretch and gave way. AMERICAN LITIGATOR allowed to settle, coaxed two wide to the quarter marker and finished evenly in the stretch drive. RIGHT OF RUSH broke a bit slowly then was allowed to settle early on, saved ground to the quarter marker and did not offer the needed late response.
