Footnotes
HOLLYWOOD IMPORT got squeezed at the start then was sent to assume early command, set a moderate pace to the turn, met the bid of CLOSE THE GATE at the quarter marker and battled inside of that rival into the stretch, lost the lead at the furlong pole, determinedly came back in the final sixteenth and dug in in the final strides to prevail. CLOSE THE GATE was forwardly placed in the early stages while outside of rivals, attended to the pace three wide into the turn, drew to even terms with HOLLYWOOD IMPORT nearing the quarter marker then battled that rival into the stretch, took a narrow lead past the furlong marker, hung into the final sixteenth, was outfinished in deep stretch and held safely for second. CODE OF SILENCE hopped at the start and spotted the field to begin, was unhurried to the turn, advanced two wide to upper stretch, closed willingly into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the top pair in deep stretch and held for third. TRENDSETTER was prominent in the early going and stalked the moderate pace along the backstretch, tracked the pace two to three wide nearing the quarter pole, gave chase into the stretch, was outkicked in the final sixteenth and just missed at the wire for third. WILD WARRIOR was forwardly placed early on while inside of runners, well placed while saving ground into the turn, maintained an inside path to the stretch, finished evenly in the late stages and flattened out. AWESOME ANDY rated off of the early pace, advanced approaching the turn then chased three wide into the bend, asked for run two wide nearing the quarter marker, was outrun to upper stretch and did not offer the needed late response. HARDTOBLAME was bumped at the start but away in good order, took back off of the moderate early pace, tracked outside of rivals into the turn, could not keep pace nearing the quarter marker then came up empty in the stretch drive.
