Footnotes
RUN TZU , bumped at the break, recovered and rolled up to bid three deep near the half, took control soon after, opened up around the turn, was under a hustling ride three wide into the stretch, remained well in front past mid stretch and was kept alert to the wire. RAILROAD INN , brushed at the break was outrun for the opening three eighths, saved ground with some momentum into the lane, worked outward for the final furlong and closed steadily to gain the place in the final yards. SOUPER VINNIE chased the pace, advanced inside and under a ride nearing the lane, eased out a bit then flattened out very late. BOLD MIRAGE lacked speed, came four to five wide for the drive, angled out near mid stretch and had a belated response. QUAHOG REPUBLIC , bumped at the break, raced three wide advancing past the five sixteenths, shifted out a bit wider into the lane, failed to sustain near the sixteenth pole and faded. TWELVE NELSON broke outward bumping and tightening a rival, corrected and sped clear early, was joined from both sides nearing the half mile marker, gave hard chase of the winner around the turn, came three wide into the lane and weakened. IT A LEE bobbled slightly at the break then steadied briefly after being brushed, dropped well off the pace, came four to five wide for the drive and lacked a response. DIVINE FUTURE gave early chase inside and faltered mid turn. THUNDER CRY , bumped and pinched back at the break, regrouped to edge up between rivals, dropped inside and pulled his way forward heading to the half, briefly bid inside foes, dropped back shortly thereafter while traveling erratically, fell after hitting the rail around the turn, walked off and was reported by the stewards to have bled. There was a stewards' inquiry into THUNDER CRY's run around the turn. No action was deemed necessary.
