Footnotes
JOKESTAR showed speed, steadied in tight quarters along the inner rail leaving the backstretch, dropped back entering the turn, swung four wide mid way on the bend, rushed up outside horses to take command approaching the stretch and pulled away under steady encouragement. WARP NINE four deep the first turn, remained outside horses down the backstretch, bid for the lead mid way on the far turn, was no match for the winner through the stretch and weakened. CALL ME FAST assumed the early lead, stayed in the three path down the backstretch, weakened mid way on the far turn and steadied when placed in cose quarters by the loose horse leaving the far turn. SURFSIDE MOON lost his rider when stumbling badly at the break, rushed up along the inner rail on the first turn, proved to be an obstacle on the backstretch and far turn and walked off the track. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning the start but no action was taken.
