MOON CACHE broke outward, corrected and was sped up three wide into the first turn, dropped in a path and sparred outside GOLDEN PHILLY through sharp fractions, shook clear leaving the five sixteenths, dug in when confronted by outer foes leaving the three sixteenths, briefly ceded command in mid stretch, battled back to regain command approaching the sixteenth marker and dug in tenaciously to outdo NICK'S NOTION. NICK'S NOTION , pinched back at the break, regrouped and settled well back, commenced a run near the five sixteenths, dropped in to continue progress past the three eighths, came back out for room near the quarter pole, was bumped by an outer NANCY MARY when bidding between runners leaving the three sixteenths, gained a narrow advantage a furlong out, fought on gamely outside the winner but wasn't quite good enough. NANCY MARY rated off the embattled leaders while off the inside, took closer order leaving the five sixteenths, was fanned four wide when NICK'S NOTION angled out approaching the stretch, came in bumping that one when challenging near the three sixteenths, vied outside foes to mid stretch, could not kick on with the top pair a sixteenth out and faded. BOURBON N LACE , bumped and forced out at the break, regrouped and lagged well back while saving ground, swung out wide for the drive and offered a belated response. MY DEAR ANTONIA , off the pace, came four wide for the drive but lacked a rally. GOLDEN PHILLY got into a duel to the inside of MOON CACHE around the first turn, carried that scrum to the five sixteenths, could not find more entering the lane and faltered. ENTENTE had speed then rated back off the dueling leaders heading to the backstretch, found a nice stalking spot towards the inside for the backstretch run, failed to go on under pressure exiting the far turn and tired.
