PONT AVEN was lightly bumped at the start, faced mild early pressure dictating terms, was briefly headed past the three-eighths but promptly retook command, opened up leaving the turn while lugging out a bit in upper stretch, was much the best to win going away under steady handling. MARGIE'S LAST pressed the eventual winner, made a brief bid past the three-eighths, could not keep up with that one but kept on in the stretch to regain the place. RIO GRANDE bobbled just slightly at the start, stalked from outside going four wide on the turn and in range coming to the quarter pole, lacked the needed late kick. TWIN LAKES tracked in behind inside and not too far off the early lead, failed to rally. REALLY READY bumped a rival just lightly at the start, appeared a bit uncomfortable in behind runners in the early going, was not a factor.
