BADGE OF WAR prompted the pace from outside, took the lead at the five-eighths moving clear soon after, was kept busy under steady urging and held sway. JOE THE JET set the early pace inside, was taken hold ceding the lead and allowing the outside foe go forward, switched outside that one and advanced on the far turn making a mild re-bid, could not match strides with the winner but was a game second. GEORGIA MAGIC was lightly brushed at the start, settled off the pace outside in about the three path, advanced to get within range past the half, evened out thereafter. CHILENO was near but off the fence racing well back of the leaders, went evenly and made no bid. FORMAL AFFAIR broke inwardly brushing a rival, was outpaced early racing inside at the back, came out in upper stretch, was never near enough to threaten.
