Footnotes
STRAIGHT TO WATER , in the clear and in range off the inside, responded when given his cue and took closer order past the three eighths, bid four wide outside runners into the lane, emerged in a battle outside TUFF LUCK in mid stretch, sparred head to head under a drive and got the bob. TUFF LUCK broke a beat slow, rushed up to contention and angled out to prompt three wide, was put to a hearty ride pursuing past the five sixteenths, bid between rivals into the stretch, fought on near even terms inside the winner through the last eighth and just missed in a gritty effort. DOLICE VITA secured the inside leaving the seven eighths and stalked, came under a ride near the five sixteenths, remained along the inner rail through the lane and churned on. GUAPONESS cleared early, set the pace in about the two path, was put to a ride as rivals gained nearing the quarter pole, failed to fend off challenges in upper stretch and weakened. FORMAL AFFAIR lagged off the pace, saved ground into the stretch but failed to muster up a rally.
