PONT AVEN bobbled slightly and outward at the break, corrected and disputed the pace outside HIGHER SENSE, moved to a slim lead while drifting out a bit into the stretch, straightened and clung to the advantage under a stiff drive past mid stretch then slowly increased his margin in the final yards. HIGHER SENSE sped to a short lead leaving the chute, dueled to the inside of PONT AVEN, dug in after being headed in upper stretch and kept on valiantly to the wire. LONG LEGGED LUIS broke a step slow, recovered and was taken well in hand, edged up three deep into the turn, took closer order four wide past the three eighths, was under pressure pursuing past mid stretch and flattened out late. MAJESTIC BLUE , in range while saving ground under a light hold, failed to quicken with the leaders leaving the half, eased out some for the drive and finished up with interest. PAYNTED LION stalked the pace and raced between foes into the turn, failed to go on under a ride nearing the quarter pole and weakened.
